Nazia Ahmed, DDS, FAGD

Background
Dr. Ahmed earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology, with a minor in Art History, from Bryn Mawr College on a full scholarship. Before dental school, she worked on AML leukemia research at the University of Pennsylvania — early exposure to the kind of exacting, evidence-based work that still shapes how she practices today.
She went on to Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, then completed additional post-graduate training through Columbia’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry program. In 2012, she became a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) — a credential that requires more than 500 hours of continuing education and a written exam, and one held by roughly 6% of the more than 120,000 general dentists practicing in the U.S.

Preventative, meticulous, and honest
Dr. Ahmed’s approach starts from a simple premise: your mouth is connected to the rest of you, and good dentistry should feel like part of your overall health, not a separate errand. That means straightforward answers about what treatment you actually need — not upselling, and not a rotation of different providers each visit. Patients see Dr. Ahmed herself, appointment after appointment.
Her art history background isn’t incidental, either: cosmetic work at Pure Dental Care is planned with the same eye for proportion and balance that goes into any visual art, so results look like your smile, not a generic one.
